Lazaroo – Thursday, July 18, 2013
No comments, Jul 18, 2013
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in maturing understanding:
“Where can we go?”
(Deuteronomy 1:28)
Good question, Jesus.
Let me personalize it even further:
“Where can I go?”
I have to know that.
I don’t want to go where I don’t belong.
Oh, sure –
sometimes I see the assignment You’ve handed out to someone else and become envious.
I wish You had given that one to me!
But down deep, I know better
because You know better.
The reason their assignment looks so good is because You tailor-made it for them.
If You had issued it to me
it would rub me raw
hang on me like a cheap suit.
Besides, the work they’re doing looks good only from a distance.
Behind the scenes
up close
they’re struggling as much as I am.
But I feel something else just as strongly:
I don’t want to miss one square inch of the precious territory
You’ve assigned to me.
