Lazaroo – Monday, June 24, 2013

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with unvarnished honesty:
“You must speak my words to them…”
(Ezekiel 2:7)
I may as well confess it, Jesus:
I tend to prefer my own words to Yours.
Oh, not officially!
My theology’s right.
I know Your words are far superior to mine.
I was just being honest –
something I may as well be with You
since You always know the truth about me
before I do.
So now that I’ve confessed what You already know
will you please tell me something else You already know?
Why am I like this?
Why do I keep preferring my words to Yours?
Is it because Your words are often counterintuitive?
So many times what I think is up
You say is down.
Or is it because I fear what people will think of me if I hold fast to Your Word?
If that’s it, I’d better think twice
so You’ll hold fast
to me.
