Lazaroo – Sunday, June 23, 2013
No comments, Jun 23, 2013
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with burning zeal:
“Demetrius is well spoken of by everyone – and even by the truth itself. We also speak well of him…”
(3 John 1:12)
That last part, Jesus –
the part where John adds his voice
to speak well of this man –
apparently, that’s pretty important, too
though it’s something I tend to overlook.
When everybody else has something good to say about somebody
I usually keep my mouth shut.
No need for me to speak up, too, is there?
We wouldn’t want it going to his head.
I’m just watching out for people like that
making sure they’re not tempted by pride.
It has nothing to do with jealousy.
Absolutely nothing.
Just because other people are going on and on about how great somebody is
doesn’t mean I have to add my voice to the chorus…
right?
Okay, okay…
that “jealousy thing?”
maybe there’s just the tiniest tinge…
