Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with sober incentive:

“I think it is right to refresh your memory as long as I live in the tent of this body…”
(2 Peter 1:13)

When You supplied Peter with those words to share with me, Jesus…

You gave him a mouthful
and me an earful.

Just as You did with Peter, You want me to regard my body

as a tent.

Not a wood, brick or stone building…

a tent.

Wow. What a picture!

A tent is temporary.
So is the body You’ve given me on this earth.

Even the fanciest tent isn’t impressive
compared to a skyscraper.

Even the best-looking body isn’t impressive
compared to the permanent body You’ll give me

when I scrape the skies in heaven.

Peter is now with You.

His turn is over.

Whether I’m 12 or 120…

my turn in this temporary tent
will soon be over, too.
