Lazaroo – Friday, May 24, 2013

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in deepening gratitude:
“God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body…”
(Ephesians 1:23)
There are long-time Christians who talk like this all the time, Jesus:
“We are His body.”
But for someone who’s new to the faith –
even for a seasoned Christian who takes a fresh look at it –
this is a pretty difficult thing to picture.
How, exactly…
am I Your body?
Oh, sure –
if I go out of my way to help some hurting person
I guess then…I’m Your hands and feet.
If I watch to be sure Your mission is being carried out well
I could be acting as Your eyes.
If I tell somebody about You
maybe I’m Your mouth.
But what means the most to me is realizing
You are actually in me
and I in You.
