Lazaroo – Wednesday, May 22, 2013

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in sober reflection:
“Fourteen years later I went up again to Jerusalem, this time with Barnabas. I took Titus along also. I went in response to a revelation and set before them the gospel that I preach among the Gentiles.”
(Galatians 2:1-2)
I love this about Paul, Jesus!
Was this one of the reasons You chose him?
Humility.
You used him in extraordinary ways –
people took handkerchiefs that had brushed his skin
brought them to those who were sick, demon-possessed.
You honored him by healing the sick
casting out the demons.
And still, he went up to Jerusalem
hat in hand
checking with the elders
making sure he was on track.
What a contrast with proud leaders today
who don’t possess in their entire bodies
one-tenth of the power in Paul’s little finger
yet wouldn’t consider someone else’s opinion
to save their lives
nor those unfortunate enough to follow them.
