Lazaroo – Sunday, April 28, 2013
No comments, Apr 28, 2013
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with burning emotion:
“I will bring a conqueror against you…”
(Micah 1:15)
I never again want to see this side of You, Jesus!
‘cause I’m pretty sure
I already have.
I’ve lost some battles I should have won
except for the fact
that I was more intent on winning the battle
than on pleasing You.
Why do I do that?
Why do I cooperate so fully with You
in the beginning
when my plans are just forming
while I’m still unsure that I actually have a shot
then bail on You when it finally looks like it’s going to happen
giving You a little goodbye wave and a wink –
“Thanks for all Your help, LORD –
but I’ve got this, now!”?
There I am, holding my tiny little corner of the project
totally unaware that You’ve been carrying me all along
until, at my pompous request –
You let go.
