Lazaroo – Friday, March 22, 2013
No comments, Mar 22, 2013
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in stand-alone courage:
“‘No,’ Elisha replied, ‘do not send them.’ But they persisted until he was too ashamed to refuse. So he said, ‘Send them.’”
(2 Kings 2:16-17)
I don’t have to tell You – peer pressure is powerful, Jesus.
Elisha knows You’ve taken his master to be with You.
When his fellow prophets want to go search for him
Elisha tells them no – it’s a waste of time.
But they persist!
So finally – not out of good judgment
but out of embarrassment! –
Elisha tells them to go search for his master…
and 50 men waste three days of their lives
50 families are directly impacted
3,600 precious hours go straight down the tube.
If the great Prophet Elisha was this susceptible to peer pressure
who am I to think I’m exempt?
I’ve got to ask:
Are the opinions of others preventing me
from anything You want me to do
…or stop doing?
