Lazaroo – Wednesday, March 13, 2013

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in grateful humility:
“Brothers, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards…”
(1 Corinthians 1:26)
I love that You call the unwise, Jesus!
That’s how I got in.
My first thought, though, is to wonder if it might not have been best for You to call more wise people to Yourself.
After all, wouldn’t they be better advertisement for Your gospel…
than the likes of me?
But on second thought, maybe not.
When a laundry soap company advertises
they choose a really filthy piece of clothing
to demonstrate their cleaning power.
When an optical surgeon advertises
she looks for someone blind as a bat
to demonstrate her ability to help people see.
Now I see why I qualify!
My sin was inexcusably filthy.
When You called me, I was as blind as anyone could be.
So glad I could be of service. 😉
