Lazaroo – Tuesday, March 5, 2013

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in holy wonder:
“The Lord is with you.”
(Luke 1:28)
That’s what the angel Gabriel told Your mother, Jesus:
“The Lord is with you.”
That was absolutely true, wasn’t it?
Not only was Your Father with her in support
but by the power of the Holy Spirit
You were – quite literally – about to be in her.
She would carry You within her for nine months
Then for the first time in history
there would occur the greatest oxymoron of all time:
a virgin birth.
Only this would be no mere figure of speech.
This would be… a miracle.
No wonder Mary has been revered ever since!
But when Gabriel told Your mother You were with her
he was not only making that promise to her
but to me.
Because I take You at Your Word
believing in Your virgin birth
Your death, burial and resurrection
You also live
in me.
