Lazaroo – Wednesday, February 27, 2013

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud to God:
“Cursed is the cheat who has an acceptable male in his flock and vows to give it, but then sacrifices a blemished animal to the Lord.”
(Malachi 1:14)
You want my best, don’t You, Jesus?
Actually, it’s a little stronger than that.
You expect my best.
Stronger still:
You demand my best.
If I fake it
pretend I’m all in
then pull back
I bring upon myself…
Your curse.
Whew!
I hadn’t really thought of it that way.
When I give less than my best
I tend to shrug it off
grateful for Your mercy.
I do feel guilty…
but that doesn’t really make up for second-best, does it?
I need to rethink this, don’t I?
Not that You want me serving You in an atmosphere of terror.
You want my joyful service!
Still, the bottom line is:
You deserve my best.
Message received and recorded.
