Lazaroo – Sunday, February 24, 2013
No comments, Feb 24, 2013
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with burning emotion:
“At that time I will search Jerusalem with lamps and punish those who are complacent…”
(Zephaniah 1:12)
What will Your lamp expose when You shine it on me, Jesus?
Is there any complacency in me?
Am I taking for granted any of the wonderful things You’re doing for me?
Do I have the attitude that my relationship with You –
my devotion
the 1on1 time I spend with You
the service I render You
the way I treat Your people
my dealings with
my family
friends
coworkers
neighbors
strangers
are somehow “good enough?”
that I don’t have to try any harder
grow any more
strive with any greater intensity –
that because of Your great mercy
I can just coast?
Certainly, You want me to rest in You.
But may I never harbor the wicked thought that I’ve done enough to express my gratitude for all You’ve done for me.
Impossible.
