Lazaroo – Saturday, February 23, 2013

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with a heart of trust:
“Is he to keep on emptying his net…?”
(Habakkuk 1:17)
It’s not that I don’t grasp the concept of “free will,” Jesus.
Although in the final analysis, Your will prevails
You’ve given us freedom of choice:
We can choose wisely…or foolishly
Sometimes we choose badly
and experience the consequences.
So far, so good.
But where I struggle
is when people choose badly
and suffer no consequences!
It’s not that I want You to punish them just so they’ll feel pain.
I don’t particularly want them to suffer.
I just want them to stop!
Why don’t You stop them, LORD!
especially when what they’re doing
is harming so many others!
Have You no pity, LORD?
Forgive me.
That’s not fair.
Your heart of compassion
makes mine look like a heart of stone.
I need to trust You.
When You don’t stop an evil person
There’s a very, very good reason.
