Lazaroo – Tuesday, January 22, 2013

Rejoice as You pray aloud the words of this Lazaroo to God:
“Now to the King eternal…”
(1 Timothy 1:17)
This is just one of the amazing things that set You apart, Jesus.
You’ve always been
You’ll always be
You…Are.
The rest of us can’t exactly relate.
Including kings…though they certainly try.
What is it about the kings of this earth, Father?
When they reach such an exalted position
they start thinking of themselves in exalted terms.
So they train their underlings to enter their presence with phrases like:
“O king, live forever!”
But they don’t.
Not on this earth.
They want to…
but they can’t.
They’re mere mortals.
They die like everyone else.
Then everybody says to the king who replaces them:
“O king, live forever!”
I don’t blame them for wanting to live forever, LORD.
So do I.
But that’s no mere futile, wishful longing.
Thanks to what You did for me on the cross…
I will.
