Lazaroo – Wednesday, January 16, 2013
No comments, Jan 16, 2013
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in baffled gratitude:
“…joyfully giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints…”
(Colossians 1:11-12)
“Qualified” is the last thing I feel, Jesus.
Even in things on which I’ve focused most of my energy
I’m painfully aware I fall short.
But I could never be good enough to earn a place in heaven.
Everything I’ve accomplished is due to You.
Without You, it would have never been done.
Others may look on and occasionally praise me
but I know how undeserving I am
and You know it far better than I do.
So if someone came up to me and asked:
“Are you qualified to go to heaven and enjoy all its rewards?”
I’d feel like a total hypocrite if I said, “Yes.”
But I’d have no choice.
If You say I’m qualified…
then solely by Your goodness, grace and outrageous mercy
I am.
