Lazaroo – Tuesday, January 1, 2013
No comments, Jan 01, 2013
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with white-hot fervor:
“…you rebelled against the command of the LORD your God.”
(Deuteronomy 1:26)
Not a particularly good idea, huh, Jesus?
It’s easy for me to see the stupidity of that move
in others.
But it’s just a wee bit harder to see
in myself –
especially in the moment
when Satan makes it seem like such an attractive idea.
Oh, I can see the asininity of it after the fact! –
after it’s blown up in my face
set me way back
cost me dearly
hurt others deeply.
That’s when I look back, baffled
shake my head and ask –
“What was I thinking?!!!”
But by then, it’s a bit late.
The damage is already done.
The depth of my regret
the sincerity of my sorrow
don’t change
one
blessed
thing.
The only value…
would be if in this New Year
I could learn something from it
for the future.
