Lazaroo – Sunday, December 30, 2012
No comments, Dec 30, 2012
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with sold-out surrender:
“Give the Levites to Aaron and his sons; they are the Israelites who are to be given wholly to him.”
(Numbers 3:9)
It’s hard to give myself to You, Jesus.
It shouldn’t be, but it is.
Because saying it and doing it
are two vastly different things.
Your disciple Peter said he’d never desert You
but when his life was on the line
he denied even knowing You.
Three times.
Saying I will give myself completely to You gives me a warm, wonderful, noble feeling.
Actually doing it –
in the very moment when it’s about to cost me everything –
makes my blood run cold.
Still…when those moments come
I fervently hope I will pass the test
every time.
Since I struggle this much to give myself to You…
how much harder it is to submit
and give myself wholly
to another flawed human being!
