Lazaroo – Sunday, December 16, 2012
No comments, Dec 16, 2012
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with burning emotion:
“But the LORD provided a great fish to swallow Jonah…”
(Jonah 1:17)
It’s hard to thank You for “provisions” like these, Jesus.
Jonah gets flung over the side of the boat
and gets eaten.
As a believer, he’s supposed to know enough to say:
“Thank You, LORD, for allowing me to be this fish’s lunch.”
Or: “I don’t understand this, LORD…but I trust You know what’s best.”
Or: “I had this coming for deliberately disobeying You, LORD.
Please give me the grace and courage to endure my punishment.”
Or: “I was about to drown in this sea, LORD!
Thank You for sparing my life!”
Or: “I’m terrified, LORD!
The belly of this fish stinks! –
but in spite of how bad this looks –
I believe You’re going to rescue me.
Or simply: “God help! Save me!”
Next time I get eaten…
Please help me remember a few of those lines.
