Lazaroo – Thursday, November 22, 2012

Step up to a higher place, as you pray aloud the words of this Lazaroo:
“His wife said to him, ‘Are you still holding on to your integrity?’”
(Job 2:9)
Her question proves it, Jesus:
She didn’t get it.
She had absolutely no concept of the meaning of integrity.
To her, integrity was something you do until things get tough.
Something you can lay aside when the circumstances change.
Tell the truth…until it negatively implicates you.
Don’t steal…unless the amount is high and the risk is low.
Tithe…until things get tight financially.
Stay faithful to your wife…unless the other woman is gorgeous.
Be true to your husband…unless the other man is rich.
Keep your promises…until doing so proves too costly.
Basically, her definition of integrity was –
Obey God…until a sin comes along that’s worth it.
But that’s not integrity.
Biblical integrity is staying true to You even if it costs me everything.
Including my life.
