Lazaroo – Sunday, November 18, 2012
No comments, Nov 18, 2012
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in faith-fired desperation:
“Come, let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem, and we will no longer be in disgrace.”
(Nehemiah 2:17)
That’s what I long for, Jesus:
End my disgrace!
You’ve been so good to me in so many ways –
far more than I can imagine.
But I have this to haunt me:
Where would I be today –
how much farther along the path You’ve laid out for me –
if only I had consistently obeyed You
always said no to temptation
stayed unwaveringly true to Your Word
remained moment-by-moment connected with You
worked diligently day after day
week after week
month after month
year after year
instead of suckering for Satan’s rabbit trails?
How hauntingly strange.
All I’ve accomplished to this point in my life
is both an uplifting testimony to how far I’ve come
and a stark reminder of what might have been.
Help me rebuild the wall.
