Lazaroo – Friday, November 2, 2012
No comments, Nov 02, 2012
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with deep reverence:
“When Naomi realized that Ruth was determined to go with her, she stopped urging her.”
(Ruth 1:18)
There is that point, isn’t there, Jesus –
when further talking can’t change someone’s mind.
Sometimes that’s good, isn’t it? –
when someone is pushing me to do the wrong thing
but I’m determined to stand for You, no matter what.
Sometimes that’s a dangerous thing –
when I’m so blindly determined to go my own way
that nobody can talk me out of it.
Looking back over my life, it’s a lot easier to see which was which
than when I was in the middle of it.
When I’m about to act foolishly, sinfully, harmfully
the secret is to listen to the wise warnings of Godly people.
But when I’m being tempted by someone to do the wrong thing
the secret is to refuse to listen.
I’m begging You, God!
Guide me.
