Lazaroo – Thursday, October 18, 2012
No comments, Oct 18, 2012
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with conviction:
“‘…my name will be great among the nations,’ says the LORD Almighty. But you profane it by saying of the Lord’s table, ‘It is defiled,’ and of its food, ‘It is contemptible.’”
(Malachi 1:11-12)
We’re spoiled brats, aren’t we, Jesus?
I mean, really.
Those of us who live in developed countries think we have to have the best of everything to worship:
modern building
gorgeous landscaping
spacious parking
a barista staffed, free-trade specialty coffee bar
state-of-the-art sound system
cushioned seating
spectacular lighting
huge video screens
compelling video and graphics
climate-controlled heating and air conditioning
entertaining, charismatic preachers
professional quality musicians
multiple worship times to fit within our schedules
a variety of worship styles to fit our musical preferences
Take one of those away and we just might change churches.
How do third-world believers ever manage
who meet underground
totally content
with nothing but God, love and each other?
