Lazaroo – Wednesday, October 10, 2012
No comments, Oct 10, 2012
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with earnest self-examination:
“On the day…foreigners entered his gates and cast lots for Jerusalem, you were like one of them.”
(Obadiah 1:11)
You’re talking about traitors, aren’t You, Jesus?
Christians who act like Your enemies
rather than Your friends.
How does someone who used to be all in
get crosswise with Your people?
A lot of it springs from human weakness, doesn’t it?
I see someone preaching one way
but living another.
Hypocrisy.
Or maybe I have a strong idea about
who
what
when
where
how
something in Your Church should be done
but the majority
or a small, powerful minority
end up doing it differently
leaving me feeling
disrespected
isolated
estranged.
At such times I have a choice, don’t I?
I can keep loving and serving Your imperfect Church
or I can turn on her like a junkyard dog.
But if You don’t give up on Your bride
how can I?
