Lazaroo – Tuesday, October 2, 2012

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with bottomless trust:
“Anyone who does what is good is from God.”
(3 John 1:11)
That’s a remarkable statement, Jesus –
one I’m not sure I understand.
Obviously, there are a lot of bad people
who still manage to do at least some good things.
So are You saying these bad people come from You?
Well, yes…
I guess they do.
Last time I checked…
You created them, too.
Apparently, You’ve stationed bad people in my life
to do good things.
Wow.
Now, there’s food for an afternoon’s thought!
Of course, none of us is all good, either.
Including me.
I’m trying to do good.
But some of what I do turns out to be bad
even though I desperately wanted it to be good.
I get so down on myself when I fall short!
but it’s encouraging to know
that every time I do manage to do good
it was You.
