Lazaroo – Monday, October 1, 2012

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in trusting belief:
“Is any suffering like my suffering that was inflicted on me, that the LORD brought on me in the day of his fierce anger?”
(Lamentations 1:12)
I don’t like thinking of You this way, Jesus.
I prefer to think of You as
my savior
my helper
my counselor
my best friend
which You are!
but not as my
boss
judge
corrector
discipliner
even though that, too
is who You are.
I know You don’t blame me for wanting all our interactions to be fun, happy, upbeat, positive.
You’d like that too, wouldn’t You? 😉
But my willful sin gives You little choice.
If You give in to Your desire not to punish me
I’ll think I got away with it
be likely to do it again.
Thanks for this healthy reminder, LORD –
and the incentive it provides –
that there’s a side of You
I really don’t want to see.
