Lazaroo – Thursday, September 13, 2012

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in obedient humility:
“Then I said to them, ‘You see the trouble we are in: Jerusalem lies in ruins, and its gates have been burned with fire.’”
(Nehemiah 2:17)
Nobody likes hearing bad news, Jesus.
But sometimes that’s the message
that has to be delivered.
It takes enormous courage to tell people
what they don’t want to hear.
So most people never raise a hand
write a letter
make a call
send an email
message the right person on Facebook or Twitter
ask for an appointment.
Faced with an unacceptable situation
most people just walk away
and go somewhere else
or complain to everyone
except the person who most needs to hear it.
Of course, there are a few people willing to take a potshot at the leader
so long as they can do it from the cover of anonymity.
But are any of those the person I long to be?
No.
