Lazaroo – Thursday, September 6, 2012

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in trusting willingness to wait on the LORD:
“…strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience…”
(Colossians 1:11)
I love seeing this, Jesus! –
that You understand I need
Your strength
Your power
Your glorious might
to be patient.
It tears me up to wait –
especially beyond the time that feels
“too late.”
I have enough trouble waiting the ordinary amount of time for something to
grow
reach maturity
fully develop.
But when it feels to me like the opportunity has passed…
when it seems for all intents and purposes
that the cost of hanging in there
has been too great
I really struggle.
I may as well confess it:
That’s especially true
when it comes to how long I have to wait
for You to answer
some of my prayers.
That’s when I have to remind myself
of this “outside possibility:”
You just might know best.
