Lazaroo – Wednesday, August 29, 2012

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with wise faith:
“But as surely as God is faithful, our message to you is not ‘Yes’ and ‘No.’ For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by me and Silas and Timothy, was not ‘Yes’ and ‘No,’ but in him it has always been ‘Yes.’”
(2 Corinthians 1:18-19)
So why do so many people think Your Church’s message is one big fat “No!” Jesus?
It’s our fault, isn’t it?
Instead of pointing them to You
we’ve focused on what they have to give up.
But why would anyone give up something they enjoy
unless they’re exchanging it for something better?
I’ll give up my dollar bill
for a hundred dollar bill.
I’ll give up my hamburger
for a steak.
I’ll give up my picnic in the park
for a trip to Hawaii.
And I will enthusiastically give up my sin
for You.
