Lazaroo – Monday, August 27, 2012
No comments, Aug 27, 2012
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in far-sighted faith:
“…we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.”
(1 Corinthians 1:23-24)
Your wisdom, Jesus…
not mine.
Mine is too limited in experience
too hamstrung by inadequate perspective
too polluted by self-serving possibilities.
Not the wisdom of this world, either.
It has no regard for the eternal
refuses to factor in
the rewards of heaven
the consequences of hell.
follows fads
tracks trends
consults “experts”
a dog chasing its own tail.
There’s more.
Infinitely more:
You.
At first glance, Your wisdom is counterintuitive
sometimes baffling
often terrifying
usually ridiculed
by those who follow the wisdom of this world.
You offer me a crown
by way of the cross.
To gain it all
I must be willing to lose everything.
So be it.
