Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with excuseless humility:
“So Moses thought, ‘I will go over and see this strange sight—why the bush does not burn up.’”
(Exodus 3:3)
What if he hadn’t, Jesus?
What if Moses hadn’t walked over to that bush?
First, he had to pay enough attention to notice the bush was ablaze
but the leaves remained green.
It’s not all that unusual to see a burning bush.
Somebody fails to put out his campfire…
the wind shifts…
there you go.
I wonder…
how many times
have I glanced at a sign You were performing
and failed to notice the miracle?
O God! Please give me eyes to see
when burning leaves stay green
signaling Your Presence.
But that’s not all.
When something weird like that happens
most people shrink away
give it a wide berth.
I want to be in that small number
who take a risk
and dare to draw close.
