Lazaroo – Monday, August 6, 2012

Stay alert, as you pray aloud the words of this Lazaroo:
“At this the men greatly feared the LORD…”
(Jonah 1:16)
Well, they could hardly miss this one, could they, Jesus?
Jonah told them he was the reason
the storm was destroying their ship:
He was running from You.
He told them to throw him overboard
and You would stop the storm.
They threw him into the towering waves
and immediately You calmed the sea.
Result?
They were terrified.
They had just discovered the one true God
who was willing to unleash His unlimited power
to turn around one man headed in the wrong direction.
O LORD! Am I as perceptive as those sailors?
Am I able to discern
when You’re providing the wind at my back
or blowing it in my face?
Am I even paying that close attention?
Or when You unleash Your power
to encourage me
or stop me
do I shrug it off as mere coincidence?
