Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with sharpened faith:

“…out of his mouth came a sharp double-edged sword…”
(Revelation 1:16)

Sounds scary, Jesus.

I mean…this is You.

How could anyone have a conversation with that?

If I didn’t understand
I’d be terrified.

I’d never even attempt to pray.

But that stunning image of You
with a double-edged sword coming out of Your mouth

is a picture
of the power

of Truth.

Truth

cuts to the heart
cuts to the chase
cuts to the quick

cuts through lies
cuts away what’s dead
cuts out

when evil walks in.

You’re the way

the Truth

and the life.

Nobody gets to God
except through You.

I can only hope that when people watch my life they will be able to tell that before I was ever born I was

cut out for You

because You and I are cut

from the same cloth.
