Lazaroo – Tuesday, July 31, 2012

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with bottomless trust:
“No king, however great and mighty, has ever asked such a thing of any magician or enchanter or astrologer.”
(Daniel 2:10)
I’ve seen it more than once, Jesus:
The bigger the problem
the more desperate the leader.
That’s how
magicians
enchanters
astrologers
get a leg up.
Intelligent leaders have always known these people are bogus
but a sufficiently desperate leader
sometimes parks her brain at the curb
and lets a
slick-talking
big-promising
stranger climb in.
Am I pulling the same stunt in any area of my life, Father?
Where am I so desperate
for something I want
to escape something I don’t want
to make something happen
that I’m losing confidence
in Your timing
in Your love for me
laying my Bible aside
giving up on prayer
abandoning my God-given good sense?
If that’s happening, please show me
so I can eject these fast-talking phonies
from my life.
