Lazaroo – Thursday, July 19, 2012

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in Christ-centered humility:
“I built houses for myself…”
(Ecclesiastes 2:4)
Wealthy people can do that, Jesus.
They don’t just build one house for themselves.
They build houses.
Plural.
But no matter how much money I have
or don’t have
there’s a better way, isn’t there?
I can build houses
for You.
I might go on a mission trip
or give in an offering
and help build a native missionary’s house.
I might show up on a workday
or give in an offering
and help build a building
for my own church.
I might even go to the bank
take advantage of low interest rates
and build a house for You
that I live in.
Yes, it would keep the rain off my head
provide me with a place to sleep.
But its highest purpose…
would be to give me a base of operations
from which to launch mission after mission
for You.
