Lazaroo – Wednesday, July 11, 2012
No comments, Jul 11, 2012
Proceed with Godly caution, as you pray aloud the words of this Lazaroo:
“Later when the anger of King Xerxes had subsided, he remembered Vashti and what she had done and what he had decreed about her.”
(Esther 2:1)
That’s hard for me, isn’t it, Jesus?
…to remember my own words and have to decide
whether to honor them
or eat them.
Either way, it can be tough.
Sometimes I write checks with my mouth
that have the potential to empty my account.
I was talking so big at the time, impressing everyone…
now it’s time to back up my words with actions
and I don’t want to!
But it’s a matter of integrity, isn’t it?
If I promised it
I’ve got to deliver
no matter what the cost.
Otherwise, my word is meaningless.
I’m just another liar.
But there are times when what I said
was just plain wrong –
which requires me to pick up my fork
open wide
and swallow.
