Lazaroo – Monday, July 9, 2012

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, sensitive to God’s timing:
“The officials did not know where I had gone or what I was doing, because as yet I had said nothing to the Jews or the priests or nobles or officials or any others who would be doing the work.”
(Nehemiah 2:16)
Nehemiah was a smart man, Jesus.
He knew there was a time to speak
and a time to be silent.
Too often, though…
I blurt out when I should be quiet
and shut up when I should speak up.
The first comes from impatience
lack of wisdom
failure to respect Your timing
an exalted view of my own opinion
lack of humility.
The second comes from fear
cowardice
peer pressure
lack of confidence
inadequate preparation.
As eager as I am to get on with the assignment You’ve given me
help me be so driven to succeed
that I wait on You
for Your inner, Holy Spirit-sparked prompt.
