Lazaroo – Tuesday, June 26, 2012

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with bottomless trust:
“I was personally unknown to the churches…”
(Galatians 1:22)
That has to be one of the more challenging social experiences, Jesus…
to walk into a roomful of strangers.
It’s tough enough when everyone is a stranger to everyone else.
But when everybody in the room knows each other –
and I’m the only one no one knows? –
ewwww!
Why do You put me in positions like that?
It’s to stretch me, isn’t it?
to grow me up
make me stronger
teach me to rely on You.
Getting stretched isn’t always comfortable.
In fact, it seldom is.
Most of the time it’s downright uncomfortable
and quite often – excruciatingly painful.
I keep thinking there must be a better way to grow, LORD.
But who am I –
to suppose that growth ought always to be pleasant?
If there was a truly better way to handle human beings
You would have chosen it.
