Lazaroo – Monday, May 28, 2012
No comments, May 28, 2012
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud…with a shiver:
“I will ruin her vines and her fig trees, which she said were her pay from her lovers; I will make them a thicket, and wild animals will devour them.”
(Hosea 2:12)
It doesn’t pay, does it, Jesus?
No matter what I think I’m going to gain by sinning
it ends up being nothing but loss.
When I cheat to get ahead
one day I discover
I’ve fallen way behind.
When I abandon You in order to have someone else
I’ve just ensured
that relationship is doomed.
But the toughest thing about all this is that it doesn’t just “happen.”
You make it happen.
You love me too much to allow my stupidity to pay off.
You make absolutely, drop-dead certain:
It doesn’t.
I’m not going to slip under the radar and get away with anything, am I?
Since You’re always watching…
I may as well do it right.
