Lazaroo – Monday, May 14, 2012

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with high aspirations:
“I undertook great projects…”
(Ecclesiastes 2:4)
I suppose this can be overdone, Jesus.
After all, nobody likes somebody
who’s too big for their britches.
Some people strive so hard for greatness that they think they can’t be bothered with
“little” people
“little” things.
The problem with that approach is that most of life is made up of seemingly little things.
It’s the respect, care, wisdom and courage with which a person handles those millions of little choices
that usually determine that person’s greatness…
or mediocrity.
Still…if I had to choose…
I think I’d rather surround myself with people willing to swing for the fences
than those who would always prefer to lay down a bunt.
In life as in baseball, there’s a place for bunts.
But what a boring thing both would be
if there were no doubles, triples
or homeruns.
