Lazaroo – Sunday, May 6, 2012

Ask God to revitalize your memory, as you pray aloud the words of this Lazaroo:
“…he remembered Vashti and what she had done…”
(Esther 2:1)
It’s hard not to remember what people have done to me, Jesus.
Even after I think I’ve dealt with the emotion of it
even after I’ve begged You to help me get over it
even after I’ve done everything I know to do
to forgive
there are times…
when it all comes crashing back down on me.
That’s not what I want
but it’s what I’ve got.
So…is there perhaps a good reason why You keep bringing these painful memories back to me?
Maybe – when I start getting too full of myself –
it’s to humble me.
Maybe – when I’m facing a huge challenge –
it’s to remind me that You’ve helped me before.
Or maybe – when I’m finally ready to listen –
it’s to show me that the other person wasn’t totally at fault
and I wasn’t totally in the right.
