Lazaroo – Sunday, April 29, 2012

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with burning emotion:
“…we speak as men approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel.”
(1 Thessalonians 2:4)
Can You trust me with the gospel, Jesus?
I’ve got to keep it straight, don’t I?
I dare not try to embellish it, to make it sound better.
It sounds too good to be true, as it is:
You loved us sinners so much, Father –
that You sent Your only Son
to die on the cross in our place
to pay for our sins in full.
Then You raised Jesus from the dead
to prove who it was
who had made that sacrifice.
So that all of us condemned prisoners
who put our hope in Jesus
will have none of our sins counted against us
will get to live with You forever in heaven!
No, I don’t need to try to make it sound any better.
It’s compelling enough
just as it is.
