Lazaroo – Friday, April 13, 2012
No comments, Apr 13, 2012
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in sober gratitude:
“Then they prayed, ‘Lord, you know everyone’s heart. Show us which of these two you have chosen to take over this apostolic ministry, which Judas left to go where he belongs.’”
(Acts 1:24-25)
It’s a good thing that You know everyone’s heart, Jesus.
There are a lot of people who aren’t exactly
wysiwyg
(whatyouseeiswhatyouget).
When I’m impressed with someone’s achievements
meet someone extremely likable
fall in love
it’s hard to surrender my first impression to You
trust You to help me know
whether this is a relationship I should pursue.
But I fail to do so at my own peril.
I’m so glad You know everyone’s heart, LORD…
including mine.
You alone see my good intentions
when the only thing others can see is my failures.
Of course, that sword cuts both ways, doesn’t it?
When everyone else thinks I’m living right
You alone know the truth.
