Lazaroo – Monday, April 9, 2012
No comments, Apr 09, 2012
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with deep longing:
“When his time of service was completed, he returned home.”
(Luke 1:23)
That’s when I want to go home, Jesus –
when my time of service is completed
my time of service to You.
my true home…in heaven.
Self-service means less and less to me.
Serving You is growing into my white-hot passion.
Why would I waste the few moments of time I’m allotted on this earth in a futile attempt to make my mark here?
That kind of mark is nothing more than graffiti
on a darkly stained wall that’s about to be torn down.
I want to invest my time
hone my craft
leverage my influence
create my art
in what matters for eternity.
That’s where my future lies.
That’s the only thing worthy of my focus.
It’s funny, though…
the more heavenly-minded I become
the more good I find myself achieving
right now.
On earth.
