Lazaroo – Sunday, April 8, 2012

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in humble submission:
“From the fellowship offering he is to bring a sacrifice made to the LORD by fire…”
(Leviticus 3:9)
Sacrifice isn’t easy, Jesus.
If it was…
it wouldn’t be sacrifice.
There’s a closeness – a “fellowship” – that comes from sharing in the fire of Your sufferings…
though few are lining up to experience it.
When I sacrifice for You
I do without something I like
maybe even something I need.
Why do I do it?
Because You’re worth it.
You did it for me.
So I do it for You
But what is there about sacrifice that makes it so important?
Maybe it’s because when I suffer in order to please You
it’s proof that I truly love You.
When I discover within myself this willingness to lay down my life for You, it assures me that just as You rose triumphantly from the death of Your sacrifice
so will I.
