Lazaroo – Saturday, March 31, 2012

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with unshakable faith:
“But now be strong…”
(Haggai 2:4)
You say that like I can just do it, Jesus.
That may make for a great athletic company slogan
but I’m not sure it will work for me.
Are You saying all I have to do is decide to be strong
and that’s what I’ll be?
Seriously…
is that how it really works?
What if I try that against an opponent much bigger, stronger, smarter and better connected than I am –
and end up publicly humiliated
thoroughly defeated
brutally crushed?
Well, then…I lose.
But so what?
That wouldn’t necessarily mean I wasn’t strong, would it?
Losing a battle doesn’t mean I’m weak.
In fact, tackling a just cause knowing the odds are overwhelmingly against me
is proof positive of uncommon strength.
You’re in me.
I have at my disposal unlimited strength.
I can be strong
anytime I choose to draw strength
from You.
