Lazaroo – Tuesday, March 27, 2012
No comments, Mar 27, 2012
Dare to believe God for great things, as you pray aloud the words of this Lazaroo:
“Who of you is left who saw this house in its former glory? How does it look to you now? Does it not seem to you like nothing?”
(Haggai 2:3)
This is really tough, Jesus –
to look at a rundown house
and remember when it was beautiful and new
to watch a wrecker haul away the twisted metal of my car
and remember when I first drove it off the lot
to see someone’s haunted expression in a police mug shot
then compare it to their happy smile in a family photo
to hear somebody being praised for their achievement
and recall a time when I had the same opportunity
and threw it away.
It’s easy to give up on something that was once full of promise
because now it’s completely trashed.
But why would I do that?
People who’ve trashed their lives
are Your miracle-working specialty.
