Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in total amazement:

“…you, O LORD, have done as you pleased.”
(Jonah 1:14)

This is a hard one for me to get my head around, Jesus.

You’re God.
You’re all-powerful.
Nobody can thwart Your plan of the ages.

But at the same time, You’ve granted the seven billion people who populate this planet

the privilege
the authority
the dignity
the responsibility

of choice.

We can be part of Your plan

try to ignore it
or fight it with everything in us.

When it comes to the fulfillment of Your will, it doesn’t matter.

In the end, You win.

With me…or without me.

But when it comes to my personal destiny and that of the people around me

the people I know
the people I see every day
the people I love more than I love my own life

it matters.

Nothing matters more.

     I

  You.
