Lazaroo – Friday, February 24, 2012

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with grateful courage:
“…of this gospel I was appointed a herald and an apostle and a teacher. That is why I am suffering as I am.”
(2 Timothy 1:11-12)
We don’t get this, Jesus.
Or even if we claim to…we sure have a hard time retaining it.
Here’s the great Apostle Paul, who’s doing everything You tell him to do –
and he’s suffering.
Why?
Well, it’s not because he’s sinning.
It’s not because he’s acting foolishly.
It’s because he’s doing everything you tell him to do.
Something inside us screams –
“That’s unfair!”
Somehow, I’ve got it in my head that if I do what’s right
good things will happen to me
people will like me better
my life will get easier.
Why else would I do what’s right?
Oh.
Yeah.
Because it pleases You.
Because I owe You my very life – now and forever
come what may.
