Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in total awe:
“As they were walking along and talking together, suddenly a chariot of fire and horses of fire appeared and separated the two of them, and Elijah went up to heaven in a whirlwind. Elisha saw this and cried out, ‘My father! My father! The chariots and horsemen of Israel!’”
(2 Kings 2:11-12)
Amazing, Jesus.
To be walking along with someone
and suddenly have a chariot of fire
drawn by horses of fire
swoop down from heaven and take that person from me
in a whirlwind, no less?
Good grief.
Talk about a game-changer.
Make that a life-changer.
But apart from the stunning miracle of that moment
if I have eyes to see it, Elisha’s cry reveals
there was more than one chariot
horsemen, too.
You insert fascinating nuggets of information like that throughout Scripture.
Sharpen my eyes, LORD!
I don’t want to miss a single one of them.
