Lazaroo – Saturday, February 11, 2012
No comments, Feb 11, 2012
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with unrestrained allegiance:
“And every man stopped when he came to the place where Asahel had fallen and died.”
(2 Samuel 2:23)
That’s what stopped them in their tracks, Jesus:
a body.
But not just any body.
This dead soldier
was the brother of their general.
When the leader suffers a loss like that
his followers can’t help but wonder how it will affect him
affect his leadership
affect them.
What would it take to stop me in my tracks, Father?
You know me.
You know what I’m able to handle without breaking stride.
But You also know what would unsettle me
cause me to forget what I was about to do
make me rethink everything.
I seldom enjoy those moments, LORD.
Many of them are accompanied by
shock
pain
disillusionment
fear.
But if that’s what it takes to make me into a battle-tested soldier in Your army…
bring it on.
